“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.” Hebrews 1:1-4
These opening verses to the first chapter of the book of Hebrews is a great look into who Jesus is. It shows not only the status of Jesus but also the role that He plays. He is the Son of God. He was there at the beginning when the world was created. His death paid the price for our sins. After resurrection, Jesus now has returned to His proper place next to Father.
These few verses capture the majesty of Jesus as well as begin what will be a book that will delve deeper into this. This week, let us remember the majesty of Jesus and let that dictate how we live our lives throughout the week.
