Sunday Devotional: 2 Timothy 2:8-10

“Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel,  for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!  Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.” (2 Timothy 2:8-10)

Paul knew where his hope came from.  His hope came from the Lord.  Even when he was suffering in prison, Paul could rejoice knowing that ultimately his hope came from Jesus.  That helped him to endure through all the pain and suffering and tough times.

When we are going through tough times or when we’re having to wait, we just need to remember Jesus and what He has done for us.  He has given us new life and salvation.  He has given us hope to persevere and endure.  So this week let us cling to that hope.  Let us endure for His sake.
